Calhoun is staying at Air Force. He released the following statement:
"We are more than grateful and proud to be closely involved with the character building of our cadets and the mission of the United States Air Force Academy. We are diligently recruiting and working with our team to prepare for the upcoming season. We look forward to coaching and being a part of the Air Force Academy team both on and off the field in 2010."
Air Force head coach Troy Calhoun has called a team meeting, according to GoVolsXtra.com, fueling speculation that he may be hired as the next coach of Tennessee's football team. Calhoun has been named as a possible candidate to succeed Lane Kiffin, who abruptly left his position to take the same job at USC.
Kiffin's stunning departure caused riots across the Knoxville campus, leading to the public defacement of UT's famed rock.
